Background
Chain Bridge Realty and its principals have been leaders in the commercial real estate industry in the greater Washington and Mid-Atlantic region for over 35 years.
Chain Bridge Realty was founded and is led by David F. Webb. After initially practicing law in Atlanta in the 1980s, Mr. Webb moved to the Washington region where he started a career in real estate development. The financial and real estate recession of the early 1990s led him to his first involvement with real estate workouts and finance, after which he became fully focused on finance and investment on a more normalized basis. Since that time he has financed, with both debt and equity, over $50 billion of development projects, acquisitions, and refinance transactions and invested in over 100 development and acquisition transactions, including working through the major real estate downturn periods such as those in the early 1990s, 1998, 2001, the GFC in 2008/2009, the COVID-19 crisis and the most recent sudden rise in rates and cap rates.
Mr. Webb recently retired from CBRE, the world’s largest real estate firm, where, as a vice chairman, he started and led for the last ten years the firm’s Mid-Atlantic Debt and Structured Finance Team, which financed with debt and equity many of the region’s highest profile finance transactions, of all product types and structures.
With Chain Bridge Realty moving forward, we intend to focus more on principal investing aspects of real estate, advisory services, and acting as an outsourced manager of capital markets, as developers and owners attempt to work their way through the many challenges posed by the rapid changes in today’s capital markets and try to “reset” their investments and expectations.
